I grew up in a time where going outside from sunrise to sunset was normal. We played softball, hopscotch, hide and seek, and so many other things. I enjoyed running around the neighborhood and playing with my family and friends.
As I’m trying to get healthier, I decided to incorporate more things I like to do than spending hours in the gym. In order to do this, I had to think about things I enjoyed doing as a kid.

I purchased a bike and a bike carrier for Love. I also had to purchase a bike rack to go on the car. This way there were no excuses for not being able to ride. I ride with a group of people or just with the kids. We have been skating a few times at the skating rink but really want to buy us some skates for home. One thing that I never learned to do when I was younger was to double dutch jump rope. Yeah, I know… all of my friends knew how but I never learned. Actually, I was too scared to get hit with the jump rope. I may add this to my summer goals.
With getting out and establishing a healthier lifestyle I am able to have fun and spend time with the kids. I am also able to make sure the kids are not spending the wonderful days of summer in in the house or on an electronic device. Do you enjoy getting outside? What will you play this summer?
